Avoid Pregnancy
It happens that for many reasons, sometimes very personal ones, people choose to avoid pregnancy during certain stages in their life.
However, it doesn’t necessarily means that it will be a lifelong choice but simply can be a decision that is right at certain point in life. Sometimes this can be something that people choose to do, whether they are couples or single.
Obviously, teenagers who are sexually active should be more cautious before making the decision whether become parents or not.
Having baby in this early stage of their lives isn’t that great idea… Just because they are engaging in sex does not mean they can become a parents to baby.
Usually, most teenagers use birth control methods such as:
- condoms,
- withdrawal,
- birth control pills
to take care and avoid pregnancy. Some of them, the more responsible ones, use a combination of 2 or all of these methods.
Couples, married or committed, choose to use the birth control methods, as well as teenagers.
When a married couple, who already have as many children as they wish to have, the option of permanent sterilization could be an answer.
Sterilization in both cases is a surgical method which can be achieved through either a tubal ligation for women, or a vasectomy for men and as they are meant to be permanent and not easily reversed, taking this route should be well thought out.
So, be very sure that you do not wish to have more children of your own.
In order to obtain the optimum protection it is very important to follow the instructions when using condoms to avoid pregnancy, and use them the right way.
As a side note, with the increasing number of STD’s in the world today leads condoms should be used for more than protection against pregnancy only.
The same is right for couples who are not that well acquainted with each.
They should definitely employ the use of condoms even if there are other birth control methods being used.
Birth control pills were first introduced in the early 1960’s and gave women a measure of independence to avoid pregnancy. That way woman no longer had to depend on men to make sure that they were protected from an unwanted pregnancy.
This also seemed allowed women becoming more sexually active and more open about it.
The Pill has was continuously improved and changed over the years. When taken correctly, this still seems to be a lot safer and one of the best ways to keep from getting pregnant.
IMPORTANT: It’s something that both women and men should keep in mind that there are no 100% effective methods to avoid pregnancy except a surgical sterilization.
So, if you are not in the position for commitment to having a child, be sure to pay close attention to the birth control method of your choice.
Don’t be embarrassed to ask your doctor if you need an advice on making the best decision. They can help… That’s what doctors are there for.
